Keeping Our Park Clean

Stalwart members of Friends of Dilkes Park group, Sonia and Peter, keep an eye on the condition of the park, along with Maggie, one of our Trustees, and Alan, a local resident. We regularly litter pick and report fly-tipping and vandalism to the Clean Streetst team at Thurrock Council ( 0800581281) More helpers are always welcome.

It is so important that problems are identified with and reported straight away and we have good partnership working with the groundsmen and horticultural and environment team at Thurrock Council. We urge park users to call in to The Forum if they have any comments on the park. We want to make Dilkes one of the best parks in the area.

Recently our new Community Noticeboard had to be removed after being mis-treated, but it has now been replaced  and will continue giving you up to date information on activities in the park.

Park Consultation

31st May 2011 saw the launch of a Park Consultation, taking views from all park users, dog walkers, parents, family members and and especially the children and young people. The information will be used to identify Thurrock Council / SOCF budget needs for the future. Forum volunteers are continuing  to assist the market research by handing out questionnaires at our premises in Derwent Parade. We intend to be in the park as much as possible during August for further consultation opportunities so keep an eye out for us.
