Play Builder Plans for the Ockendon Rec
Ockendon Recreation Ground, situated behind St Nicholas Church,Ockendon Village, has formed a committee made up of members of the South Ockendon Bowls Club, Belhus Cricket Club, Brandon Groves Football Club, St Nicholas Church, South Ockendon Community Forum, plus dog walkers and residents of the area, with the aim of improving facilities within the park. We have managed to obtain a Play Builder grant of £49,000 for play equipment and have raised further funds from Veolie ES to bring the total Playpark Build to £100k. Work will be starting shortly to create a fantastic new play area.
Sports Day at The Rec
Thursday 12th August from 10am -4.00pm we will be holding our first Sports Day at The Rec. Details are still being planned but children aged 7yrs-11yrs will have a chance to register for FREE Coaching sessions in a variety of sports. All coaches will be fully qualified and CRB checked. Watch this space for more updates!Refreshments and toilets will be available
Open Access Playscheme
The Forum are paying for Thurrock Play Network to provide resources and qualified Playworkers to hold an open access PlaySceme on Friday 20th August from 12.30pm until 3.30pm. Play schemes are designed to be family affairs so please bring a blanket and a picnic and make a day of it, having fun with the kids. We will try to have refreshments and toilet facilities available
