Young People - C-Card Scheme
NHS South West Essex currently operate a service called the C-Card Scheme that allows the young people of Thurrock to access free condoms from a number of outlets throughout the borough. Here at The Forum, Jan Kellythorn and Jane Norman are qualified distributors of condoms upon presentation of a C-Card. Very soon one of our other team members, Janet Crouch, and a volunteer, Lisa Burton, will be trained to issue condoms. Using a condom has many advantages. Not only can condoms help prevent unwanted pregnancies, but they can also act as a barrier to help both genders prevent contracting Sexually Transmitted Infections, better known as STIs. So, as the saying goes... "be safe, not sorry". Please don't be embarrassed about visiting us... we're completely non-judgemental and admire those young people displaying maturity and willingness to take responsibility for their actions.
